Electrical Appliances - Guide to keep the small appliances clean
Every device is an investment because it makes life easier. But they need proper care and maintenance. Small kitchen appliances are the glue that holds the kitchen together. Without the convenience of a microwave, toaster or coffee maker - our daily lives would surely grind to a halt. These gadgets provide us with convenience and comfort and we can save time in performing daily kitchen tasks.
Our small kitchen appliances work hard for us, and cleaning and caring for them means our food tastes better and lasts longer and this results in them functioning normally.
Important instructions to keep in mind on how to clean electric kitchen appliances -:
Always unplug the device before removing any parts for cleaning
Carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions while doing so
Any parts of the appliance that you are disassembling for cleaning come in contact with electrical components, please ensure that sure the non-electrical part is completely dry
Coffee Maker
Put a paper filter in place
Fill the water chamber with equal parts white vinegar and water
Start the machine and turn it off when it’s halfway through the brew cycle
Let the solution sit for half an hour
Finish the brew cycle
Throw out the vinegar solution and replace the paper filter
Run the brew cycle with a full pot of water to get rid of any vinegar
Repeat the cycle with one more full pot of water
Microwave/Toaster Oven
Take a microwavable bowl and fill it half way with water
Cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice from both halves into the bowl of water and throw the lemons into the bowl
Process until the water is at a rolling boil; then turn off the microwave
Keep the door closed for at least 15 minutes
The condensation/steam will loosen food particles and make them easy to wipe away
Go in again with a damp cloth and clean the cooking stains on the floor and wall
Blender
Pour 1 cup of hot water and few drops of dishwashing liquid into the jar, place the jar on the base and pulse for 5 seconds
Keep your food processor smelling fresh by blending some lemon rinds with water for a few seconds
For a more thorough but less frequent cleaning, fill the jar entirely with hot water and 1 to 2 teaspoons of liquid chlorine bleach, let stand for 5 minutes, and then dump the mixture. Rinse thoroughly with clean water
